A Bit About Me

My journey into integrative health and nutrition wasn't a straight path. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I initially pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Small Business Management. After graduating, I worked in food service and retail, but I never felt truly aligned with any particular career. I found joy in the arts, being outdoors, and competing in horseback riding—a passion I've had since childhood.

Despite my active lifestyle, I struggled for years with chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, unexplained pain, and weight that wouldn’t budge. Doctor after doctor told me that everything was "normal." I felt unheard and dismissed. Before I turned 30, I was diagnosed with malignant thyroid cancer but only after being told that my labs were normal for years. It finally took a lump to get looked at, and even that was disregarded for 6 months. That moment turned everything upside down. I followed the recommended treatment, but the experience left me feeling powerless and frustrated.

Around the same time, two of my friends were also diagnosed with cancer. I realized I couldn't sit back and accept the status quo. I wanted to understand why this was happening and how I could help others reclaim their health. This deep desire for answers led me to pursue a Master of Science at Maryland University of Integrative Health (now the School of Integrative Health at Notre Dame of Maryland University). It was one of the most transformative decisions of my life. The faculty, my peers, and the entire experience reignited my passion for integrative health and holistic healing.

Today, I am proud to say I am cancer-free and thriving. I’ve embraced trail running, completed multiple half-marathons, and am setting my sights on my first full marathon in 2025. Triathlons are next on my list! When I’m not diving into the world of integrative health, I love hiking, foraging for mushrooms, skiing, painting, practicing yoga, and caring for our growing farm in the Pacific Northwest.
